چکیده

Abstract The peculiar characteristics of Palm Kernel Shell (PKS) may have corresponding effects on polymer mono composites and hybrid when used as filler in matrices. This review paper relates (PKS), palm kernel shell-mono composites, shell terms identification, sampling, analysis. purpose was to establish the properties shells their documented by various researchers a one-stop-shop document for use current future researchers. accidental judgmental sampling procedures were employed sample documents that relate polymers. study revealed lignocellulos properties, including lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose might vary depending geographic location plant from which is derived. Similarly, mineral content PKS, such carbon, iron, Aluminum, potassium, silicon, phosphorus, oxygen, cesium, among others, found vary. Other identified include solid density, porosity, specific gravity, heat capacity, moisture content, angle repose. also observed using PKS material could modify hence PKS/polymer composites. concludes be good development PKS/oil mesocarp/polyethylene Chemical treatment particles further enhance evolved composite material.

Characterisation of Pulverised Palm Kernel Shell for Sustainable Waste Diversification

The paper presents a report on the physico-thermal properties and elemental composition of pulverized palm kernel shell to enhance its use in engineering applications. Clean palm kernel shell were dried, milled and screened to obtain particles 0.23 mm mean diameter. Experiments were conducted to evaluate the physical and thermal properties of the pulverized palm kernel shell and its differentia...

Preparation and Characterization of Palm Kernel Shell/Polypropylene Biocomposites and their Hybrid Composites with Nanosilica

Hybrid composites are characterized by a variety of properties that are of interest to automotive applications, including strength, mechanical, and thermal properties. In this work, palm kernel shell-filled maleated polypropylene composites and palm kernel shell/nanosilica-filled maleated polypropylene hybrid composites were produced using a Brabender Internal Mixer. The results showed that the...

Conventional steam activation for conversion of oil palm kernel shell biomass into activated carbon via biochar product

Conventional steam activation pyrolysis of waste materials such as oil palm kernel shell for production of biochar was investigated using central composite design. Conventional steam activation was carried out via an initial carbonization of oil palm kernel shell to obtain biochar and thereafter steam activation of the biochar using the conventional heating to produce activated carbon. Addition...

Computational Fluid Dynamic Analysis of Co-Firing of Palm Kernel Shell and Coal

The increasing global demand for palm oil and its products has led to a significant growth in palm plantations and palm oil production. Unfortunately, these bring serious environmental problems, largely because of the large amounts of waste material produced, including palm kernel shell (PKS). In this study, we used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to investigate the PKS co-firing of a 300 MW...
